NH Beach

We were in Massachusetts for our friend, Elina's, wedding and were oh, so close to New Hampshire.  So we headed to Hampton Beach one very cold and windy morning to smell the ocean.  The girls were freezing.

Niagara

On our way to our dear friend, Elina's wedding this last March we drove right on through Niagara and stopped.  It was very cool for the girls to see the Falls, and, um, for me too!  I hadn't been since I was a wee lass and, despite the misty mist, it was still a beautiful sight to behold.  

And, I must mention, just a little nerve-wracking for a parent with young children.  Images of the Superman movie kept flashing through my mind.  Geez, that would be a scary fall.  And there would be no Superman to dash behind a building, rip off his work clothes, and fly heroically off the edge, all it time to save someone.  Unfortunately.  

It was pretty though.  Yes.  Very pretty.

Kira's 4th birthday party

I'm writing this on 2.22.12 from Kira's birthday last year on 3.28... But, better late than never!  I'm almost caught up!

I can't believe that she was 3-turning-4 only a year ago.  She is now 4, almost 5 and has grown up so much in the past year.

I think that she was a little embarrassed in this picture that we were all gathered around her about to sing, hence the head in the hands.  She wanted a princess party, with a barbie cake.  I remember I didn't wait long enough for the cake to cool, so the frosting was melting and oozing down the cake.  It was kinda funny.  Still tasted good.  :)

Wagon ride

So, I'm writing this post almost 11 months after I took these pictures  and should have posted them... (it's January of 2012)
What's the advantage?  It proves to me that in mid march of this year, my kids may not have to wear bulky winter coats!  Score.  There's light at the end of the tunnel.
I suppose it also shows me (and you) just how much kids grow in a year!  (Especially little Flav... holy moly.)

Goodness, I wish this picture wasn't blurry.  I LOVE Adalin's face as she opened this gift (which I think was lip gloss or something.)  

That's what is just wonderful about a child's birthday; the excitement, the surprises, the love.

And even though I never posted 10 months ago about this little girl turning 6, we sure do love her anyway.

 And may all her birthdays bring this look of surprise.

Okay, so this was going on a year ago that I took these pics, but I have to say that Ava still does things like this.  I remember clearly that she did this all in a matter of 3 minutes, consecutively.
